Devlog #10 - Skill Trees
Hello Internet, Guys5 here to bring you some more updates on the state of the game and today we’re going to be talking about skill trees. Skill trees and perks is something we’ve discussed from the beginning of game development and now we’ve started to go full force into developing this mechanic, balancing it out and making it polished.
For the moment our wonderful art team hasn't had the chance to go over this and beautify it so what you’re seeing is the framework of what will become our beautiful skill tree (skill tree may or may not bear skill fruit).
“But what is on the skill tree”? we hear you ask. We’re still ironing out all the details but you’ll be able to boost your health, crank up that adrenaline and the most exciting bit of all, upgrade your sword to have different special effects that you can activate when you fill up your adrenaline bar. These are still the most up in the air but we’re looking into lots of different potential abilities from freezing all enemies in place, stealing their health for your own or even boosting the damage you put out at the cost of taking more damage yourself.
Many more rounds of game tests remain between us and the finished product but we hope this system will give player's plenty of opportunity to try out different playstyles in our game. Focus on defence, offence or completely ignore it. It’ll be up to you.
That’s all from us for this post but stay tuned as we’ve got much more on the way
Until next time
